PASTIFICIO LIGUORI - 230° ANNIVERSARY
Pastificio Liguori is one of Italy’s oldest pasta producers. Established in 1795 in Gragnano, Campania, a town with a centuries-old artisanal pasta-making legacy, Liguori represents a cornerstone of Italian culinary heritage. As one of the founding producers of Pasta di Gragnano PGI (Protected Geographical Indication), Liguori is a pioneer in pasta production.
To celebrate their 230th anniversary, they invited me to create a commemorative illustration for a special edition of their Fusilli pasta packaging.
I drew inspiration from their rich, centuries-old history: the woman depicted on the pack is a homage to a design they used back in 1939, while the machine from which the pasta emerges is a symbolic fusion of a traditional bronze die and a clock. This combination highlights their attention to detail and their signature slow-drying process at low temperatures—an element that sets them apart in the Italian pasta market.
